1. C.V.N. Kalari, Edakkad
The C.V.N.Kalari here at Edakkad is run by Mr. Sudhakaran Gurukal (master) who is a respected teacher and is also an accomplished Marma physician. At an early age of seven itself boys and girls can start training and the classes conducted here are for Kalarippayat, Massage and Marma treatment and a dedicated student can master all these in a span of one to one-and-a-half years time. The centre also conducts demonstrations and workshops on Kalarippayat at venues selected by interested parties and also for Television programmes, Movies, Dancers, Theatre artists, Athletes etc.

2. Kuttichira
It is one of the oldest mosques in Kozhikode . The stone inscriptions found in the Muccunti Mosque at Kuttichira reveal an interesting aspect in the history of the Zamorins of Kozhikode and their patronage of Islam in Kerala. The architecture of this and other old mosques in Kozhikode bear great resemblance to the typical Hindu temple complex with pillars, ventilators and huge tanks, as well as decorative features such as stylised floral carvings and geometric designs.
